The Afghan authorities call on the parties to the conflict in Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table and resolve the problems that have arisen peacefully. This was written by the press secretary of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdul Kahar Balkhi under the government of the Taliban (recognized as a terrorist movement and banned in the Russian Federation) on his Twitter.

It is noted that the Taliban are closely monitoring the situation in the Donbass, where Russia's special operation is taking place. They fear civilian casualties and call on the parties to refrain from intense fighting.

In addition, the Taliban urged to take care of the rescue of Afghan students and migrants in Ukraine.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in the Donbass. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky announced the severance of diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation. Kiev began the evacuation of embassy staff from Moscow.
