The Metropolitan Department of Transport announced the launch of Face Pay on all metro lines. In total, 14 lines and 241 stations of the Moscow subway were connected to Face Pay. Experts are exploring the possibility of introducing the system on the trains of the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), at the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) and in land transport.
Paying fares using face scanning technology was launched as an experiment. An application for participation in it can be submitted on the website facepay.mosmetro.ru, according to the Telegram channel of the Department of Transport.
You need to install the Moscow Metro application, bind a bank card or Troika pass to it, and then upload your photo. You can use Face Pay through the turnstiles, near which a round black sticker is glued. The passenger needs to look at the camera – the system will match the person's face with the picture in the application and automatically write off the money.
“Today the final stage of testing has begun, according to the results of which we will be ready to launch an innovative service for all metro passengers. Now we are also working on the possibility of launching the service at the MCC, MCD and ground transport, ”said the head of the transport department Maxim Liksutov.
Earlier, “Secret” wrote that Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin promised that FacePay will be available at all metro stations by October 15.
