The Sun: British submariner came drunk to unload nuclear missiles

The British submarine officer in command of the nuclear missile complex came to unload them in a state of intoxication and was suspended from service, writes the Sun tabloid, citing informed sources.

The incident took place in the state of Georgia, when the Vigilant submarine of the Royal Navy was docked at the US base “Kings Bay”. British sailors had to unload 16 Trident missiles – each carrying three nuclear warheads.

According to the publication, Lieutenant Commander Len Luv, who was supposed to take command of the system, came aboard the submarine drunk and brought fried chicken with him.

According to the source, the officer “was not able to bear responsibility for nuclear weapons,” therefore “there was no choice but to notify the higher command.”

The officer was sent to the base in Scotland, to which the submarine is assigned, and an investigation is underway against him.

This is not the first scandalous situation involving the Vigilant submarine. The vessel's previous captain and chief mate were dismissed for contacting the women on board. Another nine crew members lost their jobs for drug use.
