Deputy Bessarab: it is impossible to revive the frozen funded part of pensions

The frozen funded part of pensions cannot be reanimated, Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, told Lente.ru.
“The frozen part is no longer reanimated. It is impossible, according to the same procedure, to work off the funded part of the pension that has been frozen for eight years. This is a rather complicated process, so we are forced to save transfers from the federal budget, since 772 billion rubles, according to estimates, remains in the solidary part and goes to the personal accounts of the insured, ”the deputy noted.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law to extend the freeze of the funded part of pensions until 2024. The funded pension has remained frozen since 2014, that is, contributions to the funded part of the pension in the amount of 6 percent of wages are sent to the insurance part for payments to current pensioners.
Previously, Russians could decide for themselves: transfer money to the insurance part or direct funds to form savings.
