В Госдуме РФ не против возвращения в состав Грузии оккупированных территорий, но есть одно условие

Russia does not object to the unification of the territory of Georgia if the Soviet Union is restored.

The State Duma of the Russian Federation commented the idea voiced on Sunday, May 26, by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze about the return of occupied Abkhazia and South Ossetia to Georgia.

The head of the Georgian government in his account in X stated that Georgia strives to join the European Union by 2030, moreover, together with Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

“Our Georgian dream is to live in a united and strong Georgia until 2030 together with our Abkhaz and Ossetian brothers and sisters. A united and strong Georgia must become a full member of the European family in 2030!” – he wrote.

In a comment to the publication “Podyom”, the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Alexei Chepa, said that he would support such a unification, but within the framework of the restored Soviet Union.

“My dream is to unite all the republics of the Soviet Union, to revive the power of a great multinational state… Georgians have always lived in great friendship with the Russian people.
I think this all needs to be maintained and restored. If it were within the framework of this, then I would certainly support it. So that you can safely fly to Georgia, Abkhazia, so that you can ski in the Carpathians, come to Odessa calmly,” an official of the aggressor state dreamed.

Recall that on August 26, 2008, the then Russian President Dmitry Medvedev issued a decree recognizing Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent. This decision was the result of Russia's hybrid aggression using armed forces. Georgia lost a fifth of its territory.
