The State Department ordered the destruction of all office equipment at the US Embassy in Kiev. It is reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The US Foreign Office ordered the destruction of network equipment and computer workstations, as well as the dismantling of the embassy's telephone system, sources said. The newspaper also reviewed the agency's internal reports and concluded that the embassy in Kiev had now become unusable as a diplomatic facility.

Amid reports of an impending Russian invasion of Ukraine, the US authorities have decided to temporarily move their embassy in Ukraine from Kiev to Lvov. The diplomatic department also decided to evacuate the embassy staff from the country, a step the head of the State Department, Anthony Blinken, called “a prudent measure against the backdrop of a high risk of escalation” of the conflict.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky described the move of some embassies to Western Ukraine as a big mistake.
