The US Department of State has decided to create two senior positions to defend and advocate for the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan. It is reported by NBC.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken may soon appoint Rina Amiri as “Special Representative for Afghan Women, Girls and Human Rights”, who served as senior adviser to the US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan during Barack Obama's presidency. The position of adviser on these issues will presumably be taken by Stephanie Foster, who from 2012 to 2017 worked in the State Department on global women's rights.

In September, Afghan women were denied the opportunity to work with men in government offices, banks, the media, and most companies. Thus, women could only work where there are no men, due to the fact that the Taliban ( the Taliban movement is banned in Russia as a terrorist movement ) decided to follow their vision of Sharia and Islamic law.

According to UN human rights activists, the situation with the rights of Afghan women is currently extremely difficult. They are beaten in the street, banned from going to schools and abducted.
