The State Department called the number of evacuees from Afghanistan to the United States
More than 31,000 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan to the United States since mid-August, RT reports.
This was announced on Wednesday by the head of the press service of the US State Department Ned Price.
According to him, during the period from August 17 to midnight on August 31, 31,107 people arrived from Afghanistan within the framework of this operation.
The representative of the department also clarified that more than 75% of the evacuees are Afghans who left the country because of the threat to their safety.
Earlier it was reported that the South African authorities decided to abandon the temporary placement of refugees from Afghanistan on their territory.
