The US State Department said that Russia continues to pull troops to the border with Ukraine and is not going to de-escalate the situation. This is reported by TASS with reference to the official representative of the department, Ned Price.
“In fact, we have seen exactly the opposite: in recent weeks and even days, Russian forces on the border have become larger, not smaller,” the diplomat stressed.
The US Foreign Office added that Washington's concern about Ukraine “has not diminished one iota.”
Earlier, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the United States continues to observe the concentration of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine.
Prior to this, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, indicated that the reason for the Russian military exercises near the Ukrainian border was the large-scale supply of weapons to Ukraine from the United States. She added that the American media's information campaign about the Russian invasion of Ukraine was necessary to motivate the expansion of arms supplies to Kiev.
