The source for accusations against US President Donald Trump about collusion with Russia was a Russian official. Writes about this The Wall Street Journal.
We are talking about a native of Perm, Olga Galkina, who in the past held the post of deputy mayor of Saratov. In addition, she worked as the head of the press service of the governor of the Saratov region, and her resume includes the position of press secretary of Rostekhnadzor.
Regarding the charges, we are talking about the Webzilla company, in which Galkina also worked. According to the US, it was Webzilla that participated in the hacks during the 2016 presidential election. Then an acquaintance of the British intelligence agent Mi-6 came to Galkina and asked her to help in the search for incriminating evidence on Trump.
Galkina, being at that moment in strained relations with the employer, transferred information for the dossier, including to Webzilla. She also stated, among other things, that Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen met in Prague with Russian intelligence officers and discussed the payment of Russian hackers.
These allegations formed the basis of an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, which was won by Donald Trump. In it, Galkina appeared as “source No. 3”.
In April 2019, US Special Attorney Robert Mueller published a report stating that Moscow did interfere in the American electoral process, but suspicions about the connection between the Russian side and Trump could not be confirmed.
