The Skolkovo Foundation will distribute grants for the introduction of artificial intelligence

Skolkovo, within the framework of the federal project “Artificial Intelligence” of the national program “Digital Economy”, will select companies for the implementation of technology in priority industries until 2024, the fund told Kommersant. The amount of each grant will be from 20 million to 100 million rubles, the total amount of grant support is 5 billion rubles. The fund will receive subsidies from the Ministry of Economic Development and provide funding for pilot projects.

To qualify for funding, pilots must have replication potential and exclusive rights to the solution being deployed. Projects with state participation are not eligible for grant support. “The purpose of the competition is to support the best Russian developers by stimulating demand and accelerating the digital transformation of industries,” explained Arkady Dvorkovich, Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation.

“Such a tool will make it possible to form success stories and examples of future real-life cases. We will be able to provide startups with a springboard that allows them to overcome the barrier of the first large-scale implementation and get a solid portfolio to enter the market, ”said Vladislav Fedulov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia.

The federal project “Artificial Intelligence” was launched in August 2020 and is designed until 2030. Its total funding until 2024 will amount to 31.5 billion rubles, of which 24.6 billion rubles. will be allocated from the federal budget. It is planned to attract another 6.9 billion rubles from extra-budgetary sources.
