Donald Trump's return to the White House has prompted NATO allies to focus on bolstering political support amid a prolonged war.

NATO is redoubling efforts to rush more weapons to Ukraine given the difficult situation on the field battle.

Bloomberg reports this, citing its own sources.

One of the possible options for a ceasefire in Ukraine is the creation of a demilitarized zone. According to a senior NATO diplomat, European troops would likely guard and patrol the ceasefire if there was one.

“The discussions are underway amid recognition that the situation in Ukraine is fragile and that talks must begin soon, a senior Western diplomat said. For European allies, the scenarios also offer an opportunity to show Donald Trump that they can remain relevant if ceasefire talks eventually crystallize,” Bloomberg reported.

Meanwhile, it recalls that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin has so far refused to discuss a ceasefire.

“We must do more than just support Ukraine in its fight. We must provide enough help to change the trajectory of this war once and for all,” NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said during the meeting. Alliance.

According to Bloomberg sources, the foreign ministers who met in Brussels this week focused on how to supply more weapons to Ukraine. At the same time, the governments began to consider various scenarios for ending the war through negotiations.

The discussion includes security guarantees that would protect Ukraine without provoking Putin, the interlocutors noted.

Recall that Ukraine urgently needs additional air defense systems to protect energy facilities. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte noted this on the morning of December 4, on the eve of the meeting of foreign ministers at headquarters.
