The intelligence and security service of Moldova found two foreign citizens associated with sabotage centers outside the country. They wanted to undermine the situation in the Republic.
On February 27, 2023, as part of counterinformation measures aimed at identifying threats to national security, two foreigners were detained in Moldova, designed to destabilize the situation in the country.
What is known about the perpetrators
The security service of Moldova detained two men. They collected data and information in order to implement a plan to destabilize the internal situation in the country and forcibly change the constitutional order of the Republic of Moldova.
The men were “disguised” as ordinary tourists and did not work independently. They were coordinated with a group of individuals connected to a conspiracy network of foreign experts in political technologies and social engineering.
In Moldova, foreigners initiated a complex of information and sabotage actions. In particular, they examined various places near state institutions and critical infrastructure facilities, as well as monitored and documented the socio-political processes in the country and protests organized in the capital by certain political forces. Unfortunately, the Services do not specify which country the foreign spies were citizens of.
Foreigners are being deported
According to Article 55 paragraph 1 of Law no. 200/2010 on the regime of foreigners in the Republic of Moldova, the Intelligence and Security Service of the General Inspectorate for Migration declared the two perpetrators “undesirable persons” for a period of 10 years. They are deported from the country.
What is happening in Moldova now
- Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky warned Moldovan President Maia Sandu about the plans of the Russian special services – the invaders are trying to destroy the Republic.
- Sandu noted that Moscow really has a plan to undermine the country. It provides for “the involvement of saboteurs with military training, camouflaged in civilian clothes, who will commit acts of violence, attacks on some government buildings and hostage taking.”
- Meanwhile, Russia is dispersing the IPSO regarding the fact that Ukraine is allegedly preparing to invade Transnistria.
- Later, Sandu stated that Ukraine has the right to strike at Transnistria in order to prevent an offensive from the occupied territory of Moldova.
- The airline could indeed make a decision after the Romanian authorities informed Chisinau that they had found “a small unidentified object resembling a balloon.” Then the flights were stopped for more than 3 hours. It happened on February 14th. But for now, we are waiting for confirmation from the air carrier regarding flights to and from Chisinau.
- Meanwhile, from March 14, WizzAi suspends flights to and from the capital of Moldova. The reason for this decision was “risks in the airspace” over Chisinau.
