The second stage of the Chinese heavy launch vehicle Changzheng-5B (CZ-5B), which is out of control and falls to Earth, can enter the atmosphere of our planet in the Mediterranean Sea, and this will happen in the early morning of May 9, approximately at 05:11 Moscow time, according to the space-track portal, which analyzes data from the Joint Aerospace Defense Command of North America (NORAD). At the same time, it is noted that the error in calculating the time by specialists is about an hour.
Recall, as the website kp.ru wrote, the CZ-5B launch vehicle was launched from the Wenchang cosmodrome in China on April 29, 2021, it launched the Tianhe (“Milky Way”) base module of the future Chinese space station into orbit.
And at the beginning of this week, on May 4, it became known that the 18-ton second stage of the rocket uncontrollably returns to Earth and from May 8 to 10 may fall anywhere in the world. Since then, experts and analysts have put forward several versions of where exactly this could happen.
Earlier, the US Air Force predicted that the spent stage would enter the atmosphere over Turkmenistan on Sunday, May 9. In China, they believe that most of the debris of the rocket will burn up upon entering the atmosphere, there is no threat to people.
