The second warship of the US Navy (Navy) entered the Black Sea in 24 hours. This was reported to RBC by the National Defense Management Center of Russia.
Forces of the Black Sea Fleet began to monitor the actions of the US Navy missile defense destroyer Thomas Hudner.
Prior to this, the American missile cruiser Monterey entered the Black Sea.
Earlier, the US 6th Operational Fleet reported that Thomas Hudner was heading to the Black Sea for a security operation. The military also explained that American ships and aircraft regularly conduct operations in the region to support NATO partners.
Thomas Hudner belongs to the Arlie Burke-class destroyers and can carry up to 96 Tomahawk cruise missiles or Standard interceptors in vertical universal launchers. Monterey is capable of carrying up to 122 Tomahawks or interceptor missiles.
Since the beginning of 2021, the United States has intensified its activity in the Black Sea, at the end of January the destroyers Donald Cook and Porter visited it.
