The launching ceremony of the second multi-purpose corvette class ship Getman Ivan Vygovsky took place on August 1 in Istanbul (Turkey) at the shipyard of the İstanbul Shipyard Naval.
This ship, commissioned by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is being built by the Turkish shipbuilding company STM.

The godmother of the second corvette for Ukraine, as well as the first type Ada Hetman Ivan Mazepa, was the president’s wife Elena Zelenskaya.
The first lady broke a bottle of champagne on the hull of a ship built for Ukraine.
According to maritime traditions, it was from this moment that the corvette officially received its own name – Getman Ivan Vygovsky.
Recall that the first Ada-type corvette for Ukraine, Hetman Ivan Mazepa, was launched in Turkey on October 2, 2022.
The hull of the future flagship of the Ukrainian Naval Forces was built at the RMK Marine shipyard.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky assigned the name Hetman Ivan Mazepa to the ship on August 18, 2022.
