The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed 13 participants of the “Lugansk district of the Don Cossacks” who fought against the ATO forces as part of pro-Russian illegal armed formations.
According to the investigation, previously these persons were part of the public organization of the same name, registered before 2014. Subsequently, the Ukrainian court decided to ban it and forcibly dissolve it.
Terrorists have previously actively participated in hostilities against the Ukrainian military in the areas of Lugansk and Debaltseve.
In particular, they accompanied the so-called “humanitarian” cargo from the Russian Federation for militants, and also patrolled settlements in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass.
The special services were able to document the facts of the involvement of armed terrorists in the protection of illegal checkpoints in ORDLO.
– There they, among other things, stopped public transport and cars of local residents and carried out illegal searches– – the message says.
Currently, the leaders of the Cossack formation are hiding from justice in the temporarily uncontrolled territory of the Luhansk region by the Ukrainian authorities. After the arrest, the attackers will be brought to criminal responsibility.

The proceedings were opened under Article 110 (Encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) and Part 1 of Article 258-3 (Participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As of today, measures are continuing to identify and bring to justice other persons involved in crimes against Ukrainian state security.
