The Russian national team won the women's relay at the second stage of the World Cup in cross-country skiing in Lillehammer. The correspondent of “Lenta.ru” informs about it.
In the final segment, 20-year-old Veronika Stepanova took the lead. She brought her team to victory in the race. The second place was taken by the Swedish skiers, the third – by the athletes from Norway.
The Swedes were 1.1 seconds behind the winners. The gap between the first Norwegian team and the Russians was 1.2 seconds. In addition to Stepanova, the first Russian team was represented by Natalya Nepryaeva, Tatiana Sorina and Yulia Stupak.
The women's relay completes the second stage of the World Cup in Lillehammer, Norway. The next stage will take place in Dresden, Germany and will begin on December 18th.
