Many people keep old smartphones in case the new one breaks down and a “temporary” device is needed to use it. But there are those who, when buying a fresh device, immediately throw out the old one.
It turned out that this is not the best solution. So, according to Sergey Kuzmenko, senior specialist in testing digital products of Roskachestvo, components that are harmful to people and the environment are used in the manufacture of gadgets.
For example, the metal and plastic often used to make telephones take hundreds of years to decompose. In the case of incineration, these materials emit toxic substances, writes the Prime agency.
The glass from which the screen is made is no less dangerous. He, if damaged, is capable of harming both people and animals.
In this regard, the expert advised to properly dispose of unnecessary gadgets. He also recalled that in case of improper disposal of them, in Russia they face a fine of up to two thousand rubles under article eight of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
