Water, potatoes and nuts can relieve headaches, nutritionist Ludmila Denisenko said. She is quoted by KP.RU.
Denisenko called clean still water the simplest remedy for headaches. “Firstly, this is the first cure for a hangover, and secondly, chronic dehydration can provoke various pains, including headaches. Therefore, if you have not yet started drinking 1.5-2 liters of water every day, then the New Year is a great time to start this healthy habit, “she added, explaining that chronic dehydration leads, among other things, to colitis. and accompanying constipation, migraines, and lower back pain.
The nutritionist also advised Russians to eat potatoes baked with peels for headaches – a source of potassium, pumpkin seeds – a source of magnesium and zinc, and almonds – a source of magnesium and vitamin B2. In addition, you can eat fatty fish: herring, mackerel, sardines. “Omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in fatty fish, have anti-inflammatory properties, which means they help reduce the frequency and severity of attacks of chronic headaches,” explained Denisenko.
In conclusion, the doctor urged those suffering from headaches to drink ginger tea, which has anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties, and to eat cayenne pepper. “Of course, you can't eat a lot of it, but sprinkling a chopped tomato with hot pepper makes it a great pain reliever,” she added.
Foods containing tyramine can provoke pain. These include long-term protein foods, smoked meats, red wine, canned food and homemade products, chocolate, bananas, and pine nuts.
Earlier on January 1, endocrinologist Oksana Mikhaleva revealed three ways to combat a hangover. The first step is to restore fluid and mineral deficiencies in the body, she said. In this case, you can use rehydration solutions from the pharmacy or simply drink mineral water, cucumber pickle, low-fat kefir or whey.
