Private clinics can provide medical care under the compulsory health insurance (MHI) program. Anastasia Myrsina, a lawyer of the healthcare practice and BGP Litigation technology, told the Prime agency about this.
According to her, when contacting a private clinic, the patient must be informed about the possibility of receiving medical services within the framework of the compulsory medical insurance. However, the provision of services free of charge in some cases is impossible. For example, for example, without a referral from a local therapist, you cannot go to a specialist doctor in a private clinic for a service under the CHI. Also, free assistance will not be provided to persons without Russian citizenship or with anonymous application.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that Russians will be able to abandon a paper-based medical insurance policy and receive a compulsory medical insurance policy in digital form in 2022. According to him, an electronic document will be generated automatically at birth or citizenship. Now, an application for the issuance of a digital MHI policy can be issued if you have an account on the public services portal. The Minister noted that such an innovation will speed up communication between the medical institution and the patient.
