Sergey Kuzmenko, senior specialist in testing digital products of Roskachestvo, told how to properly store old smartphones.
The specialist explained to Rossiyskaya Gazeta that if the phone with the battery inside is left to be stored for a long time, it will be discharged. In the future, a situation may arise that a smartphone that was completely discharged cannot be charged at all. The expert advises keeping your devices 50-80% charged.
Moreover, the specialist recommended avoiding a full discharge “to zero”. He noted that if the battery has been on the shelf for a long time, you need to check how much it is discharged.
And one more piece of advice from Kuzmenko: do not store the battery where it is very hot or, on the contrary, cold. This can lead to mechanical damage.
