Cybersecurity specialist Andrei Masalovich told Russians a simple rule of safe storage of data on a smartphone. He told in an interview with RT how to protect information.
“You can store any data without restrictions, but the simplest rule is that everything that you are ready to store in your mailbox at the entrance can also be stored in your phone,” the expert explained.
According to Masalovich, the level of data protection on a smartphone can now be compared to the level of protection of a mailbox. At the same time, data cannot be stored on servers and computers, as well as smartphones connected to the network. The expert advised to have the media removed.
Including in the memory of a smartphone, it is absolutely impossible to store tablets with passwords and credentials. The specialist recalled that it is unsafe to use the same passwords on different services, and urged to change them at least once a quarter. “It is more convenient to split credit cards: that is, an account with a lot of money can be made available only from a branch. That is, when you need to make a large payment, you have to come to the branch, ”he explained.
Masalovich also warned about the dangers of marking a “Remember me” checkbox, which, in his opinion, should not be put anywhere. In addition, you cannot keep a photo of your passport, and when you send it, you should then delete it. In the personal account of online stores, it is better not to let the bank card details be memorized, but to enter them again each time.
Earlier, expert Zach Doffman urged smartphone users on the Android operating system to remove one very dangerous application. We are talking about paid and free versions of SuperVPN. According to Doffman, the program, which is designed to make the user's access to the network safe, works the other way around: Experts accuse SuperVPN of using spyware and data leakage.
