Analyst of the Jet Infosystems Incident Response Center Jet CSIRT Maria Volgina told the Russians about personal data that should not be stored on the phone. Her words are reported by the Prime agency.

Volgina said that attackers can hack into the phone and gain access to all information, so there is no need to save photos of documents and work contracts in the gallery. “If you need to access these documents online, it's best to upload them to a secure cloud. Many services provide free storage from 2 to 15 gigabytes, which is enough, ”she recommended.

According to the expert, it is better to avoid storing passwords and bank card details in notes or correspondence. She stressed that many instant messengers automatically upload data to the device, so deleting a message does not guarantee the destruction of information. It is also important not to use the “remember me” function in mobile device browsers – the data can be stored in encrypted form, but if attackers have a password, they can easily access it.

Earlier, Russians were warned about a new scheme of telephone scammers. They began to ask to transfer money to a “special” or “protected” account with the Central Bank, although this actually does not exist. Attackers expect that the mention of the regulator will lull the vigilance of a potential victim, the Bank of Russia noted. It is noted that scammers can also pose as law enforcement officers or call on behalf of government agencies with promises of payments and compensation.
