Almost 80% of Russians will refuse to undergo a survey if it is carried out by artificial intelligence (AI), analysts of the Superjob portal have established. Another 44% are confident that AI will not be able to correctly diagnose, prescribe treatment or monitor the course of a patient's illness. People believe that the current development of modern technology is not enough for medicine.
The results of the Superjob study were disclosed by Gazeta.Ru. Only 5% of Russians believe that AI algorithms will be able to accurately establish a diagnosis, another 37% are ready to partially entrust them with these functions. People argue for the decision that AI has access to a database that surpasses the experience of one particular doctor.
Healthcare professionals find automation useful for the job. UiPath, a software development company for automating robotic processes, said that AI can save 80% of the staff time, which is usually spent on processing documents.
AI-based services are able to monitor the state of a person in real time. Software robots analyze patient vital signs data and alert health care providers if something changes or an emergency occurs.
Forbes analysts said that digital technology can reduce early deaths by 10-30%. According to UiPath representatives, this is 14 million lives annually.
In the regions of Russia, digitalization of medicine should take place within the framework of the federal project “Digital Region”. It can cost 51 billion rubles in 4 years. Within the framework of the “Digital Region”, an analytical 4G-platform “Health” should appear for remote monitoring of the patient's condition.
The government is also going to create a Unified State Information System in the Healthcare Sector (Unified State Health Information System) for the digitalization of public services in medicine. It is planned to be completed by 2024.
