The Russian invaders destroyed the building of the Art Museum named after Arkhip Kuindzhi in Mariupol. There were stored original paintings by world-famous masters. This was reported in the City Council of Mariupol.

According to the head of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Konstantin Chernyavsky, the original works of Arkhip Kuindzhi were not in the museum at the time of the shelling — only copies by Andriy Yalansky and Alexander Olkhov remained there.

But it is reported that the museum kept original paintings by other Ukrainian artists, in particular Ivan Aivazovsky, Mykola Glushchenko, Tatiana Yablonskaya, Mykhailo Deregus and others.

Whether it was possible to save the works of artists and what their fate is still unknown.

The museum's fund consisted of about 2 thousand exhibits, including works of painting, arts and crafts, graphics and sculpture.

< p>The Mariupol City Council notes that the Russians deliberately kill the civilian population of the city, continue to destroy critical infrastructure, culture and everything Ukrainian.

On the evening of March 16, Russian invaders destroyed the Drama Theater in Mariupol. Even a warning from the Ukrainian military did not stop Putin's henchmen: from satellite images, large white inscriptions CHILDREN are visible to the naked eye on both sides of the theater building.
