In Buryatia, firefighter Alexei Popov, who had earlier announced the beating by Rosgvardia officers, disappeared. The publication “Siberia. Realii ”( included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of media performing the functions of a foreign agent ).

According to the woman, Popov has not answered phone calls for more than a week. She said that she was worried about the disappearance of her client, because the man had previously complained about threats from law enforcement officers after filing an application against the Russian guards to the Investigative Committee.

According to Aleksey Popov, in early August, Rosgvardia officers stopped him without reason in their own courtyard and tried to take away the money, after which they beat him for several hours, calling him a “lump” and threatening to rape him with a service truncheon. They left him in his cell overnight, refusing to call an ambulance and give him pain relievers.

Almost a day after the arrest, the police took him away from the department immediately to the court, where he was found guilty of disobeying the police and imposed a fine. According to the newspaper, the judge refused to listen to eyewitnesses, neighbors and acquaintances of Popov, who could confirm that he did not offer any resistance.

At the end of November, it became known that in Irkutsk, a criminal investigation was completed against an employee of the regional department of the Russian Guard, who beat a local resident with a protective helmet and then accidentally killed him during his arrest. Now he is accused of committing crimes under Articles 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Negligence”) and 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Excessive powers”). The criminal case was taken to court.
