The German Prosecutor’s office has filed charges of espionage against a Russian citizen
The German Prosecutor General’s Office has filed charges against a Russian citizen for working for Russian intelligence. This is reported in the statement of the German department.
It is noted that the Russian Ilnur N. was officially accused of espionage on December 9, 2021. He was arrested in June 2021. Before his arrest, he worked as a researcher at a university in Bavaria. According to the prosecutor’s office, the secret service’s interest was, in particular, in various stages of the development of the European Ariane launch vehicle and other aerospace equipment.
In June 2021, the Prosecutor General’s Office stated that a Russian citizen met with a representative of the Russian special services at least three times: this happened between October 2020 and June 2021. The accused allegedly transmitted information in exchange for a monetary reward.
