IT specialist Anatoly Babkin said on his Twitter account that the Skillbox educational platform debited 78,370 rubles from his card for the 1C programming course. He stated that from the information provided by the platform he did not understand exactly how much the course cost, but thought that the amount would be around 20,000 rubles. According to him, Skillbox refused to return the money, and then they offered to return “50% as a discount.”
“The full cost was not indicated anywhere on the page, but I thought the cost would be around 20 thousand,” Babkin said.
He bought the course for his wife. Babkin posted screenshots of the section of the site where he read information about the course. It follows from them that the duration of the training is six months, and the cost is 3750 rubles per month.
After the consultation, the platform employees asked if Babkin wanted to pay in installments or pay for the course in full.
“I chose Google Pay (payment system Google Pay). – Approx. “Secret” ). At that moment, for some reason, the full cost of the course was debited from me, and it was far from what I thought, ”he said.
The man, less than 20 minutes after the money was debited, wrote a letter in support of Skillbox with a request to return them.
“Representatives of the company contacted me today. They say that there is no refund for the course, because they provided services in full, ”he said.
At the same time, the Russian stressed that the training had not yet begun to take place. The man believes that he was “misled about the cost of the course.”
According to Babkin, Skillbox offered to choose a new course or find a person “who is interested in the course and who will give me money, and they will rewrite their personal account for it.” Later, the programmer was contacted again. They explained to him that it was possible to see the full cost when going “to another page with sales,” and offered to “return 50% as a discount,” the man added.
“According to their agreement, they have no right to make a refund, because according to their rules, the service is considered completed as soon as they send a username and password with access to the platform,” said Anatoly Babkin.
Earlier, St. Petersburg resident Andrew Sinitsky filed a lawsuit against Google, Tinkoff Bank and the developer of the mobile game The Great Sultan Mechanist Games for the fact that 763,550 rubles were written off from him because of an in-app purchase in this game. The man lost the trial.
