The Russian national team has risen in the FIFA rating from 38th to 32nd place, having 1485 points in its asset. Turkey has the same number, which shares the 32nd place in the rating with the Russians. The Russian national team is ahead of the Romanian team.
The team led by Stanislav Cherchesov scored 15 points thanks to a successful performance in the League of Nations. The Russian national team defeated the teams of Serbia and Hungary. The Russian national team showed the best result among all the teams in the ranking for the period from July 16 to September 17, moving up six positions.
The first place in the FIFA ranking is held by the Belgian national team (1773 points). The second place went to the French (1744), the third was the Brazilian national team (1712). The Portuguese national team also showed growth, rising from seventh to fifth place.
The Russian team showed the best result in 1996. Then, in the ranking of April-May, the team occupied the third line.
