Russia will find alternatives to US administration sanctions and will not succumb to US pressure. This was stated in an interview with RTVI by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
The diplomat stressed that Moscow refuses to succumb to Washington's blackmail. “Russia has never caved in under pressure, never succumbed to threats,” he said.
Earlier, Ryabkov said that the desire to torpedo the slightest sprouts of common sense in the dialogue between Moscow and Washington dominates in the US Congress. The diplomat called the mood in Congress anti-Russian hysteria. According to him, US congressmen seek to impose an agenda that will finally drive relations between the two states to a standstill.
Ryabkov also noted that the United States and NATO do not want to meet Russia halfway regarding proposals for security guarantees. He pointed out that Russian military experts are offering President Vladimir Putin options in case the situation around Ukraine deteriorates. According to him, this is a difficult story and it is necessary to give a chance to diplomacy.
