Russians cannot get the coronavirus vaccine at embassies abroad. This was confirmed by the official representative of the Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, RIA Novosti reports.
She explained that diplomatic missions are not medical centers, and “in order to carry out vaccinations, you need to have an appropriate base.”
On February 19, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a note to all foreign embassies located in Moscow with a proposal to vaccinate employees against the coronavirus with Sputnik V. It was about the vaccination of 12 thousand people. The embassies of the CIS countries, Asia, Africa and Latin America became interested in the initiative and began to send their employees for vaccinations, some were even given a day off to go to the clinic.
Earlier it was reported that employees of the US Embassy in Moscow applied for doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine due to a shortage of an American-made drug, the same happened in other diplomatic missions of the United States.
