The Kremlin continues to escalate the situation around the separatist region on the territory of Moldova.

At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry threatened that “the army of the Russian Federation will respond to provocations,” and promised to ensure “the protection of our compatriots in Transnistria”.

In response, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, stressed that the only country that can to arrange provocations on the territory of Transnistria, the Russian Federation is the aggressor state.

The Moldovan authorities also refuted Moscow's statements.
