The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the process of negotiations with Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.
Zakharova said that the Ukrainian side refused to negotiate with Russia and postponed them until tomorrow, February 26.
“The Ukrainian side refused to negotiate. Representatives of the Kiev regime proposed to postpone this issue until tomorrow, ”she told reporters.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his readiness to send a delegation to negotiate with Ukraine on the country's neutral status. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Ukrainian side offered to hold talks in Warsaw, but took a break and stopped communicating.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that negotiations with Kiev are possible only if the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) lay down their arms and stop resisting. “No one is going to occupy Ukraine. The purpose of the operation is openly declared – demilitarization and denazification,” he stressed.
