The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the statements of US national security adviser Jake Sullivan about Russia's plans for an “invasion” of Ukraine. She wrote about this in her Telegram channel.
She noted that provocations, disinformation and threats are Washington's favorite method to solve its own problems. “The skating rink of the American military-political machine is ready to go through people's lives again. The whole world is watching how militarism and imperial ambitions denounce themselves,” the diplomat added.

On February 11, the White House expressed confidence that Russia could take aggressive steps against Ukraine during the Beijing Olympics. According to Sullivan, the US administration is confident that the invasion of Ukraine “could begin at any moment.” The official did not comment on the details of the information received from intelligence, but noted that such an attack could occur during the Olympics.
At the same time, the presidential aide stressed that the United States does not claim that Russia has made a final decision on the use of force against Ukraine.
Bloomberg later named the date of Russia's “invasion” of Ukraine. According to “familiar with the issue” anonymous sources of the American agency, we are talking about February 15th. It is noted that Russia's actions may include a provocation in the Donbass or an attack on Kiev. “Any action can begin as early as next Tuesday,” the news agency reports the words of the interlocutors. However, they did not provide any evidence to support their claim.
On Smolenskaya Square, Western countries were accused of conducting an information attack against Moscow. The Foreign Ministry believes that the leaders of Western countries, in collusion with the media, are escalating tension around the situation in Ukraine in order to discredit the just demands of the Russian Federation for security guarantees. “In fact, the Western media served the political order of their governments, co-ordinated replicating false information, participating in a full-scale information war,” the press service of the department wrote.

The definition of US policy, similar to that expressed by Zakharova, was also given by Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN. He called the US alarmists and stated that Russian troops were still on their territory. “Some sane people hoped that the hysteria fanned by the United States had subsided. Maybe they jinxed it, because the alarmists clearly got a second wind, ”the diplomat assessed the situation. The deputy representative suggested that the United States invade Ukraine itself, because “someone must after such an alarmist campaign.”
Against the background of statements about the invasion, Serbia took an unexpected step. President Aleksandar Vucic said that Belgrade began urgently buying food and oil products. “When you see that the whole world is hysterically waiting for something to happen between Russia and Ukraine, then you cannot pretend that nothing is happening,” he explained. According to him, his head explodes from the fact that it is necessary to find money not provided for by the budget and solve the issue of purchasing oil products in large volumes. “Today we urgently ordered ten million kilograms of salt, one million kilograms of beans, the same amount of peas. Let's take 30 million kilograms of flour,” he listed.
