Maria Zakharova reacted hysterically to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's statement about the Minsk agreements.

The official representative office of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the revision of the Minsk agreements proposed by the United States could lead to the destruction of the peace process in Donbas.

She stated this on Wednesday, February 9, on the air of the Russia-24 TV channel.

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry drew attention to the recent statement by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that “the Minsk agreements can be implemented only if their proper sequence is found.”

“It is surprising that the United States is trying to find a sequence in the document, which spells out the entire sequence of steps of all parties. Such statements, and especially their synchronism, speak of one thing – the United States is in favor of revising the [Minsk] package of measures. This can lead to the destruction of the peace process “Zakharova said.

As you know, the Minsk agreements provide not only for a ceasefire, the withdrawal of weapons, an amnesty and the restoration of economic ties with the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass, but also for the consolidation of the special status of certain regions of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in the constitution of Ukraine. Kiev also demands that a section of the border with Russia in the Donetsk region be transferred to the control of Ukraine until the political part of the agreements is implemented.

Recall, the official representative of the German government, Wolfgang Buechner, confirmed that on Thursday, February 10, a meeting of representatives of the Normandy Four countries will be held in Berlin to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
