Russian fighter Askar Askarov defeated American Joseph Benavidez and thus won the third consecutive victory in the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) 259 tournament, Sport24 reports.

The fight between Askarov and Benavidez lasted three rounds. At the end of the fight, the judges unanimously gave the victory to the Russian.

In total, Askarov won 13 fights, one more ended in a draw. The American fighter had 34 fights, this loss for him was the eighth in a row.
