The Russian Federation pardoned Nemtsov’s killer and sent him to fight against Ukraine

Eskerkhanov signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry.

In Russia, one of the people convicted in the Boris Nemtsov murder case was pardoned after signing a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry in prison and is now fighting in Ukraine.

This was reported by Russian media.

Temirlan Eskerkhanov joined one of the assault units and is now carrying out combat missions in the so-called “special military operation” zone — the contract was signed for a year.

In 2017, Eskerkhanov was found guilty of the murder of Boris Nemtsov. He was part of the criminal group that committed the murder: he followed the politician and indicated the location where Nemtsov was. During his time in pretrial detention, he complained about delays in the trial and poor conditions of detention, filing claims with the ECHR. In 2017, the ECHR awarded him compensation in the amount of six thousand euros for moral damages.

Boris Nemtsov was killed on February 27, 2015, on the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge near the Kremlin. In 2017, the court sentenced five people from Chechnya to long terms, including security officers. Among them were Zaur Dadaev, recognized as the direct perpetrator of the murder, brothers Anzor and Shadid Gubashev, as well as Temirlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev. They all deny their guilt. The people who ordered the murder remain unknown, and the investigation has been criticized by Nemtsov's relatives, who suspect the Chechen or Russian leadership of involvement.

Recall that on February 16, Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who was serving a sentence in a penal colony in Yamal, died. The cause of his death is still unknown, but Western leaders blame Vladimir Putin's regime. This event became part of a long series of murders that characterize modern Russia.
