Russian Embassy in Egypt: Semenov received medical assistance and consular support

The Embassy provided Arseniy Kotov, a Russian detained in Cairo, with the necessary medical care and consular support, the diplomatic mission reports in the official Telegram channel.
“Active work is underway with the Egyptian authorities to release our compatriot. A corresponding note has been sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt. There are intensive working contacts,” the staff of the Russian Embassy said.
The Russian citizen was provided with medical assistance and a medical examination was carried out. The diplomats also provided Semenov with medicines and food during his detention at the police station.
On January 27, the Russian Embassy in Egypt commented on the beating and detention of popular Russian blogger Arseniy Kotov. After the attack of local residents, Kotov was detained and taken to the police station.
Earlier, a popular Russian blogger and photographer Arseniy Kotov reported an attack on him during a trip to Egypt by local residents. According to him, unknown people grabbed him by the camera and started shouting, waving their fists. The attackers hit the traveler in the face and tried to break the camera.
