The Russian Embassy in the United States is investigating whether our compatriots are among the victims in Wisconsin, where eight people – seven adults and one teenager – were injured as a result of the shooting in a shopping center.
“The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the United States has asked the State Department for information about the presence of Russians among the victims of the shooting at the Mayfair shopping center in Wowatosa, Wisconsin,” the diplomatic mission said in a statement posted on the Russian mission's Twitter page.
We will remind, as the website kp.ru wrote, at least 20 shots in the Mayfair shopping center rang out at about three in the afternoon local time on Friday, November 20. Fortunately, no one is killed.
Eyewitnesses described the shooter as a young white male, approximately 20-30 years old. The shooter fled the scene of the crime, the police continue to search for him. Earlier, the mayor of the city Dennis McBride told reporters that the lives of the wounded were not in danger.
