The Russian Embassy in Bern, Switzerland, has asked the country's authorities to strengthen the security of the diplomatic mission due to incoming threats against employees. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press secretary of the embassy Vladimir Khokhlov.
The Swiss government has strengthened the security of the diplomatic mission. “In connection with the incoming threats against employees, the Russian Embassy turned to the competent Swiss authorities with a request to provide appropriate security measures. The Swiss authorities promptly responded to our request, the security of the diplomatic mission was strengthened,” Khokhlov said.
Earlier, a Russian diplomat suffered at the hands of unknown people in Vilnius, he was beaten up at a rally in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. According to the agency, one of the attackers has already been arrested. The police do not reveal his identity and details of the incident.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation to protect Donbass. He also turned to outside forces that might try to pose a threat to Russia. According to him, Moscow's response will be immediate.
