The “tripartite alliance” of London, Warsaw and Kiev is a momentary, opportunistic construction that does not meet security needs. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin, RIA Novosti reports.
The diplomat called artificial attempts of such interaction. “I don’t see the main thing between the UK, Poland and Ukraine – the economic foundation of interaction. It is possible to build some other political relations, including military ones, on it. The main thing is not visible, ”he said, saying that the idea would not last long.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, at a joint press conference with his British counterpart Liz Truss, announced plans to create a new trilateral format with the participation of Kiev, Poland and the UK. The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted that a joint statement by the foreign ministers would soon appear on the websites of the foreign ministries of the three states. This statement will talk about the fact that Great Britain and Poland will “stand shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian people” in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within the recognized borders.
