Russian Ambassador to Latvia Mikhail Vanin said that Russia does not shy away from dialogue with the republic and is ready to discuss the most pressing issues. His message is reported by TASS.
According to the ambassador, there are many issues for discussion, so the representatives of the states “sooner or later will have to sit down at the negotiating table.” “Russia stands for an open, equal and honest dialogue on any problems, no matter how complex they may be,” Vanin said.
Earlier in January, the head of the Latvian Ministry of Defense, Artis Pabriks, said that the department would ask the state for an additional 350 million euros due to the growing threat to national security, in particular from Russia. “And we also see that Estonia has allocated additional resources to its armed forces, as well as a little to internal affairs, in order to contribute to the faster development of its armed forces,” he specified.
