MOSCOW, August 24. / TASS /. The consortium “Russian-African Network University” (RAFU) was created on the basis of 12 Russian universities and research centers. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science on Tuesday.
“12 Russian universities and research centers, which have rich experience in scientific and educational cooperation with the countries of the African continent, have united in the consortium” Russian-African Network University “(RAFU). The corresponding decision was made at the founding meeting held on the eve of the on the website of the ministry.
It is noted that the primary tasks of RAFU will be the creation of a single educational and scientific space, the development of mechanisms for the development of academic and student mobility, as well as the promotion of intercultural dialogue and the mutual enrichment of cultures and languages.
“The educational model of RAFU will work as a single pool of courses and disciplines available to the consortium members in Russian, English and French. These same courses will form the basis of joint educational programs,” the press service said.
The members of RAFU at the initial stage included: Southern Federal University, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, Crimean Federal University named after V.I. Vernadsky, Astrakhan State Medical University, Russian State Hydrometeorological University, National Research University “MPEI”, Moscow State University food production, Russian State Geological Prospecting University named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze, Russian State University for the Humanities, Russian State University named after A. N. Kosygina (Technology. Design. Art), State Institute of the Russian Language. A. S. Pushkin, Federal Research Center “Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas named after A. O. Kovalevsky RAS”.
