Valery Saramutin
Member of the Ethics Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Andrei Sozin spoke about the removal of Russian footballer Valery Saramutin from the matches of the Texas club Austin Bould in the United States for refusing to kneel in support of the fight against racism. His words are quoted by “Moscow speaking”.
Sozin considered that this was an unsportsmanlike act on the part of the management of the football club. In his opinion, it is unacceptable to remove a player for expressing his own opinion. “It's like faith. Someone believes in their God, someone else, but they don't punish for that. He didn't break the law. It seems to me that they are simply going too far with this, ”said a member of the RFU committee.
