The Antonov State Enterprise appealed to the international aviation community and all concerned people with a request to join investments in the International Fund, with the help of which they are going to revive the An-225 Mriya aircraft.
– Among all transport aircraft, the An-225 Mriya GP Antonov aircraft occupies a special place – the largest in terms of the mass of cargo transportation and unsurpassed in its parameters. For more than 30 years of operation on air routes of countries on all continents, the aircraft has shown its unique flight performance and the ability to transport oversized cargo, which no other cargo aircraft is able to carry out, the company recalled.
It is reported that the An-225 has set 240 unbroken world records and has the ability to carry out a horizontal launch of spacecraft and rockets in flight, transport certain types of cargo on the fuselage.
– For 34 years, the An-225 aircraft has had no equal, it has won worldwide admiration and respect. We are proud of the successful development of the aircraft – over the decades of operation, the appearance of the aircraft at the airports of Ukraine and abroad constantly and invariably arouses the admiration of thousands of specialists and fans of aviation, as well as ordinary people from different countries. The plane has become a legend, a symbol of the highest technical achievements of the world aviation community of the 20th and 21st centuries, a pearl of the aircraft industry,” Antonov emphasizes.
However, as a result of the actions of the Russian invaders against Ukraine, the An-225 aircraft was destroyed and the company's staff decided to prevent the complete irretrievable loss of the legendary aircraft as one of the symbols of modernity and begin to revive the flagship of transport aviation.
– For there is every reason for this – design and scientific and technical documentation, and most importantly – the presence, great desire and inspiration of the Antonov team. Unfortunately, at this difficult time for Ukraine and GP Antonov, there is not enough money to solve this problem. We propose to establish an International Fund for the An-225 Transport Aircraft Revival,” the statement said.
