The Republican proposes that Ukraine “give the occupied territories to the Russian Federation”

Republican Senator J.D. Vance made a loud statement about Ukraine's concessions of territories to Russia.

Republican Senator J.D. Vance ( Ohio) said the US needs to recognize that Ukraine may have to “cede some territory” to Russia to stop the fighting.

He said about this on CNN.

JD Vance emphasized that he opposes providing additional aid to Ukraine because he does not believe that the country will ever be able to defeat Russia.

Thus, the senator asked why sending billions in aid to Ukraine would help it at this stage of the war against Russia, given that previous aid did not help end the war.

“It is in America's best interest to accept that Ukraine will have to cede some territory to the Russians and we must end this war. But when I think about the great human tragedy here, hundreds of thousands of innocents have been killed in this conflict. Then, What is in our interests and in theirs is to stop the killings,” Vance said.

Lawmakers are divided over the White House's request for additional funding, which includes additional aid to Israel and Ukraine. Many Republicans opposed providing additional aid to Ukraine and demanded increased security measures at the US border.

Vance argues that no one believed Ukraine was going to win the war, explaining that the focus should be on stopping the fighting and killing.

“But on the Ukrainian issue in particular, everyone knows that this (war – ed.) will always end in negotiations. The idea that Ukraine was going to push Russia back to the 1991 border was absurd, no one really believed it,” said J.D. Vance.

Recall that Republicans blocked the package of financial assistance to Ukraine. They are ready to vote for him if Democrats agree to strengthen America's southern border.

The administration of United States President Joe Biden said that at present they can only guarantee assistance to Ukraine over the next few weeks while they continue negotiations with Republicans to continue funding.
