Illegal construction work in the neighborhood – Director of the Department for Information and Public Relations of the Kharkov City Council Yuriy Sidorenko at a briefing named the reason for the collapse of the walls of the building at 20 Gagarina Avenue.
– Today we can say that the reason for this collapse was a gross violation of construction legislation by the owner of the Office equipment plant, on the territory of which the collapse occurred, – he noted.
Despite the fact that the architectural inspection registered a notice about the beginning of construction work, this did not give the right to dig a pit and lay the foundation of a new building, Sidorenko explained.
According to him, the beginning of construction work involves only clearing the site and installing a fence.
< p> – That is, all construction The first works that were carried out on the territory of the Office equipment plant were illegal. They were not coordinated with anyone, there were no permits for them. During these works, as we understand, the foundation of the building was damaged, which collapsed, – added Sidorenko.
According to him, there is a risk of repeated collapses.
1 January 2022, there was a collapse of the wall of a four-story building in Kharkov at 20 Gagarin Avenue, which housed offices. The building was being prepared for demolition and was not used. Fortunately, no one was hurt as a result of the collapse.
