The real number of people infected with coronavirus in the United States may be much higher than what the authorities say. This assumption was made at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), reports Fox News.
By the end of September, the number of infected people could reach 53 million. This is about eight times the number that the American authorities have been talking about: about seven million.
The CDC also believed that out of 53 million, only 45 million infected could have been infected with the coronavirus, and only 2.4 million would go to hospitals. US health officials have long warned that people can carry the coronavirus even if they don't notice any symptoms.
According to the latest data, there are 12.7 million people infected with coronavirus in the United States. 262 thousand people died from complications caused by COVID-19.
