According to the German President, Russia should be responsible for the military tension that has arisen in Europe.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, re-elected for a second term in office, appealed to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin “to solve the noose from the neck of Ukraine.”
This is reported by the publication RND.
It is noted that during his speech after his re-election as president, Steinmeier mentioned Ukraine. “The deployment of Russian troops cannot be misunderstood – it is a threat to Ukraine … But its people have the right to live without fear and threats, they have the right to self-determination and sovereignty. No country in the world has the right to destroy them, and we will give a decisive answer to everyone who will try to do it,” Steinmeier said.
The tense situation that is now in Europe, according to the President of Germany, arose because of Russia. He said: “We are in the middle of a military conflict, there is a war going on in Eastern Europe. Russia is responsible for this .”
During his speech, he assured all NATO and EU member countries of Germany's support.
“You can count on us. Germany is a member of NATO and the EU. Without them, the Germans would not live in unity and freedom now. Let's not forget about it. We are committed to the Alliance – without ambiguity,” Steinmeier stressed.
